Configuring and Building the Linux Kernel

This page is a follow-up to a presentation on Configuring and Building the Linux Kernel (targeted at newbies). This intends to provide access to the presentation sources and a PDF version for viewing.

Presentation (PDF) The PDF version of the presentation is created with mgp2ps, ps2pdf (mpg2ps can't render the gradients, so the presentation doesn't look all that cool).
Presentation (Source) Presentation sources for magicpoint (this is a text file). You will need to download magicpoint from http://mew.org/mgp/ if you don't already have it. Some distributions do provide RPMs, so it might be easier to install it.
Linux Kernel Build HowTo The entire presentation is based primarily on this HowTo, which you'd rather read than sit for the presentation :P

yes, I haven't versioned these files [yet], I really don't know how many will want to check this presentation when there's an awesome howto available. So, I'd probably do it in my own sweet time.

Who's this presentation for?

This presentation is essentially for (The intended audience is part of the presentation) Wannabe hackers, people who want to get quickstarted on building their 2.6 kernels and need a bit more guidance. If you're part of a LUG and want to show a kernel compile, please feel free to use the presentation (and save yourself precious time.)

DISCLAIMER: This website has nothing to do with the Greek Alphabet 'Beta' or Sony's Beta video cassette format.
