Introduce the subject and the presenter to the audience and get the attention, making emphasis on the topic. At least, when they leave the auditorium they should remember the subject that was dealt with. Do the pleasantries, acknowledge everyone's "presence" in the auditorium till the last row.

The first time I delivered this presentation, it took me 90 odd minutes, but I'm sure it can be pruned and made to fit within the hour.
